900QBH Seawater Submersible Pump for a European Offshore Platform

2026-07-21

Latest company case about 900QBH Seawater Submersible Pump for a European Offshore Platform

A European customer required a large seawater submersible pump for an offshore platform project. The pump needed to deliver both high flow and high pressure while operating reliably in a highly corrosive marine environment.

After reviewing the project requirements, we supplied a 900QBH2250-112/2 seawater submersible pump manufactured in Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507.

Project Requirements

The offshore seawater system required a pump with the following performance:

  • Flow rate: 2,250 m³/h
  • Pump head: 112 m
  • Motor power: 1,250 kW
  • Rotational speed: 1,450 rpm
  • Pumped medium: Seawater
  • Installation: Submersible
  • Material: Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507

The customer needed a high-capacity pump capable of transporting large volumes of seawater through a high-pressure pipeline system.

Our Solution

The selected model was:

900QBH2250-112/2-1250kW

The QBH series is designed for applications requiring both large flow capacity and high discharge head. Its two-stage hydraulic design enables the pump to achieve a rated head of 112 metres while maintaining a flow rate of 2,250 cubic metres per hour.

A 1,250 kW submersible motor was matched with the pump to provide sufficient power for continuous heavy-duty operation.

Super Duplex 2507 for Seawater Service

Because the pump operates directly in seawater, corrosion resistance was a key requirement.

The main pump components were manufactured from Super Duplex Stainless Steel 2507, also known as UNS S32750. This material offers excellent resistance to:

  • Seawater corrosion
  • Chloride pitting
  • Crevice corrosion
  • Chloride stress-corrosion cracking
  • Erosion in high-velocity seawater

Compared with conventional stainless steel, Super Duplex 2507 provides higher mechanical strength and better corrosion resistance, making it suitable for offshore platforms, seawater intake systems and other demanding marine applications.

Project Result

The completed 900QBH seawater submersible pump provided the customer with a compact solution combining:

  • High flow capacity
  • High discharge pressure
  • Fully submersible installation
  • Strong seawater corrosion resistance
  • Heavy-duty offshore construction

This project demonstrates our ability to design and manufacture large seawater submersible pumps for European offshore, marine and oil and gas projects.

For similar applications, the pump flow, head, motor power, material, voltage and installation dimensions can be customized according to the customer’s operating conditions.
