Deep Borehole Pump for Groundwater Extraction in Africa

Groundwater is an important irrigation source in many agricultural regions of Africa. For one irrigation project, the customer needed to extract water from a deep borehole and transport it to the surface irrigation system.
The required duty point was 65 m³/h at 90 metres head.
For this application, a 200QJ65-95 deep borehole submersible pump driven by a 75 kW motor was supplied.
Unlike a surface pump, the QJ unit works directly below the water level. This eliminates long suction lines and allows water to be pushed vertically from the borehole to the discharge pipeline.

The multistage deep-well hydraulic structure is suitable for applications where relatively high discharge pressure is required.
For the African customer, this configuration offered the necessary balance between pumping capacity, lifting height and investment cost.
The pump can be used together with irrigation tanks, distribution pipelines or direct field water supply systems, depending on the local irrigation layout.
